My great resolution for 2018

4 DECEMBER 2017

If you follow my blog, you’re probably aware that I am a great believer in organic food. I want my daughters to grow up learning how to relate responsibly with the food that they consume and the importance of organic food not only for their health, but also for the environment. Because this is no longer just a fashion or a fleeting trend; organic food has come to stay. We are increasingly more informed and are more aware of what agrees with us as individuals and as a society, and being aware of the environmental impact that our actions leave on the planet, I want to invest my energy in doing as much as I can to ensure that my daughters have a healthy body and a healthy planet. A better future.

My daughter Manuela’s school is a melting pot of different cultures, and this means that it is flexible and adapts to each family’s food needs, allowing each child to take his/her food from home in a lunch box. Although my daughter is not faced with a different gastronomical culture, I also prepare her lunch box because I want her to continue eating the food I believe in and which she has been raised on until now: organic food. Unfortunately, very few schools offer menus with organic food (or ecological, they refer to the same thing) for children, and hers is not one of them. YET!

This is how I prepare my daughter Manuela’s lunch box with meals from the menu that I shared in this post.

School snacks are the only thing families who opt for the lunch box are not allowed to give our children. That is why, although the ideal would be that the food in my daughter’s school be completely organic (that is what my letter to the Three Kings would request), my resolution for next year is to achieve that it at least adopts this change in the snacks and desserts for the whole school. A good first step could be to introduce such a basic and recurring product as yoghurt, which children love, and which is highly nutritious.

I am facing this resolution with a great advantage because I have an ally whose mission is also to bring the benefits of organic food to society. I am proud to work with my friends Las 2 Vacas, who offer delicious organic yoghurts at a reasonable price, in this fight to improve our health, and that of the planet.
